DIY or Not Adviser: Yahoo! Finance Asks Us When to Do It Yourself

Technology today makes it a simple matter to sit in a room in Washington DC and be interviewed by someone in New York City. While you might take it for granted we always marvel at how smoothly the technology enables it to happen. We were interviewed by Farnoosh Torabi, a personal finance expert who was reporting for Yahoo! Finance on the subject of the current DIY economy.
The studio Liveshots DC was at the epicenter of the nation’s capitol with CSPAN and NBC studios also in the building. Steve Clark, who ran the operation effortlessly coordinated the feed with producer Chris Murphey in NYC and operated the remote camera.
The gist of the interview explored the idea of deciding when to tackle a task like refinishing floors, changing your car’s oil or moving to save money. What criteria should you use and how do you weight the cost vs. the benfits vs. the hassle? We had a lot to say and we’ll provide a link to the video when it runs sometime later this month.
We hope you’ll visit us at and on your smartphone at to find the cost of hundreds of home improvement jobs.
